Kāinga Elves of Ormiston Junior College

Discover the Magic of the Kāinga Elves!

This December, Ormiston Town Centre invites you to experience a truly special festive attraction—the Kāinga Elves Display, a collaboration with Ormiston Junior College (OJC).

Each elf represents one of OJC’s seven Kāinga (Houses), a unique structure that fosters belonging and community within the school. Designed and handcrafted by students, these elves bring to life the creativity, teamwork, and cultural pride of the OJC learners.

Over several days, students dedicated themselves to this project, pouring their hearts into creating elves that reflect the vibrant spirit and individuality of each Kāinga. From intricate details to bold designs, every elf tells a story of connection and collaboration.

By visiting the display, you’re not just celebrating the festive season—you’re also supporting the incredible talent and community spirit of our local students. This display is a tribute to the creativity of OJC learners and the cultural diversity that makes our area so special.
